I’ve posted this on instagram but I thought I’d shared this here too.
Drawing Tips – Straight lines – achieving consistency (for Beginners and non-architectural background)
Architectural drawings are meant to communicate ideas and info to as many people as possible. At the heart of this is the simple straight line. I spend many years practicing drawing lines like this. I even do it today. Practicing this can be very dull and boring so mixed them up a bit using different pen thicknesses – you can see using a 0.1, 0.5 and a thick black marker pen. The key is to get the lines as consistent as possible. Start slow and avoid rushing. Once you’re more confident, increase the speed.
Don’t strive for perfection unless you’re a fine art student!
